Because there’s less time to listen compared to the tons of records out there. I don’t even remember where and how I read about the Liars, maybe it just talked about the first album (and since Giubbo emphasizes discussing the second, I gather it’s not exactly stellar), anyway, it said something like “new group from the Dark Wave revival trend,” so I dismissed it without digging deeper; it’s a bad habit caused by the abundance of albums. We need an authenticated forum called something like “what can you tell me about...?” where one writes a name they’ve heard and, by reading the responses, can get an idea. Anyway, I’ll listen to those Liars this week, I trust you :D

So I listen to them, as usual, never trust the WebZine.

It's a matter of Label and "circle of friends"; even the Pooh, if they released for Hydrahead, would say they're post-core. Another obvious case is Pelican, who even create instrumental pieces abusing Fuzz & Wah Wah, with slow, megalithic riffs, definitely leaning more towards Stoner-Psych-Doom than anything else. But since they release for Hydrahead, the Post-Core label gets attached to them by default. Just like everyone who released for Man's Ruin was labeled stoner, even if they made '60s Garage or Salsa & Merengue :D

... but I've been wondering, "Music Is Rotted One Note," what the hell does that mean?

Alright, now I'm going to listen closely to Dawn since I haven't heard it in a while. Anyway, sooner or later Airone will get there, everything that is Tetesko & Psykoteliko is now under his copyright :D

I snubbed those guys over there, if I'm not mistaken they are part of the "let's revive the '80s" movement, and since the only really cool & indispensable thing birthed in the '80s is me (I mean), I snubbed them. Maybe the new stuff is lying somewhere in a zipped archive, I'll check... but if it sucks, I will hold you directly responsible, and my wrath will fall upon you like a shit avalanche plummeting from a flock of swallows migrating to warmer lands. (What a beautiful image, right?... I'm way too poetic in the morning, I mean)

The Tortoise ones are worth every penny they cost, one by one. I haven't bought it, but only because I always forget about it when I can't find it in stores. Once you start ordering online after 3-4 albums, there's always that mental blank and indecision. But they’re worth it, and the covers with the fish get me excited.

Odra, you have to consider that someone with a 56k connection takes 30 minutes to send a sample. I would send tons if it took 5 or 10 minutes... but half an hour is just too long. /// I’m looking for the album, it should appeal to me in 98% of the cases.

To me, bluntly: they suck. The review isn't bad, but the final sentence is laughable: in 2002 only El-P, Dj Shadow, Porcupine Tree, David Bowie, Down II, Qotsa, Sigur Ros, even Tom Waits released two, Blackalicious, Rjd2, Boards Of Canada, Dredg, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Meshuggah... before spouting off nonsense, maybe listen to something.

Ah no damn, I even have the Fishtank by Sonic Youth... it's nice too, not magnificent but still worth a listen.
