Instrumentally maybe yes, but given the extreme minimalism of the proposal, if you consider that, you could compare them to any rapper from the late 80s to early 90s. Rap is about the lyrics; they were talking about Eggs & Ham, Guru about survival in the ghetto. They made colorful videos with bouncing little gnomes, while Guru told the story of the little pusher exploited by the boss who, at the end of the video, killed the boss and took over the neighborhood. I would say that the comparison is a bit far-fetched, given the immense Gangstarr Militia (and the difference between Tribe and Militia already speaks volumes).

Even Miles Davis drew inspiration from their sound and that of their peers (DLS & JB's). It's not about being number 5, no. After all, who is Miles Davis in front of Killgod? Sorry. Even on Miles' part. Bambataa was doing Beat, this is Rap. The comparison doesn't just hold up, it doesn't relate at all. // For a sample, I take 6 days; I've tried various times without ever having the time to finish it. It's a super famous record, you should find it easily on peer to peer, if not more. Maybe also look for ATCQ (like QOTSA).

You’re not at all Zulu Nation in saying that. If you want to be a rapper in full Hip-Hop, there are two factors: Islam & Vegan. If you’re not Vegan, then you’re already not a Hip-Hop rapper; just imagine if you’re not Islamic. You’re neither Islamic nor Vegan, so I’m sorry, but your career as a rapper within the Hip-Hop movement ends here. You had a future with Phase II and his anti-dairy crew; it’s a real shame. You can take comfort in the fact that once they became an extremist movement, even the ATCQ left the Islamic-boosted-diet band. Q-Tip is very nice, so you could start a new movement with him.
