Well, whatever, Killgod, we'll catch up when you make me understand where you want to go. Happy Saturday to everyone, especially to Giulio.

Jim, I didn’t understand a damn thing about that phrase from Killgod. Hip-Hop is practically a political party, not a music genre, and if Mos Def isn’t Rap, then I’m Yatomoshi Torenaga. It’s 2006; it’s normal for things to evolve, distancing themselves from the dogmas of the '80s, for crying out loud. Otherwise, you end up with a beautiful mess like the latest from the Beastie Boys, which is just annoying from the first to the last track. Useless.

Well Jim, Rap is one of those things you either like or you don't. I can even feel it without music underneath. 97% of the groups don't really get influenced by other genres, so there's not much to get used to. Maybe try Cannibal Ox and Dalek, who have something that goes a bit beyond and might appeal to you... but when it comes to pure East Coast high representation, I don't know how worthwhile it would be for you to delve deeper. Stick to the Aggratis path, it's better.

Killgod, I really can't follow you. The Channel Live are great, but I don't understand either the mention of "atcq=cacca" in the conversation or the talk with Kingston. Please point out the thread that connects your post to another, because I am truly disoriented.

Of course, the comparison with Mos Def works. With a final note: definitely not the last of the idiots.

PS: by the way, the little Pusher in the video (Just To Get A Rap) became Lil’ Dap from Group Home. Just to share some random trivia here and there.

Instrumentally maybe yes, but given the extreme minimalism of the proposal, if you consider that, you could compare them to any rapper from the late 80s to early 90s. Rap is about the lyrics; they were talking about Eggs & Ham, Guru about survival in the ghetto. They made colorful videos with bouncing little gnomes, while Guru told the story of the little pusher exploited by the boss who, at the end of the video, killed the boss and took over the neighborhood. I would say that the comparison is a bit far-fetched, given the immense Gangstarr Militia (and the difference between Tribe and Militia already speaks volumes).

<< But be careful if you find a TV and see a video of the ATCQ tuned in on MTV, it's not that you stop looking for them >> But is your name Mork, and do you come from an egg from Ork?
Voto:
NB: Miles Davis... strictly only Doo Bop and nothing else, mainly from the second album of ATCQ.

R.H.C.P? P.O.D.? Look, if you listen to this record, you’ll stop making comparisons that score less than zero. They’re comparable to any dude who’s shoved a bass and a trumpet into his rap game, from Miles Davis to your next-door neighbor.
