No, it’s not all scales. The Riff wants its part too.

After a few days, I can say I'm quite disappointed. The funniest thing about the review was Cousin Giusy. No one pointed out to me that ATDI were far from a four-chord band, as despite Ward only playing riffs, Omar spent entire albums doing arpeggios and solos. Their last album contains at least 35 minutes of Omar's solos and 20 of various arpeggios. The drums often go off-beat. Zavala sings in 8 different ways. The only ones that are not very proggy are the Bass and Rhythm Guitar. Even when you get the chance to deliver fair judgments, you fail. Or maybe you all have only heard Acrobatic Tenement. I'm convinced that Lukin wanted to tell me, but love got the better of him, and he said nothing. I'm really disappointed; the wise battles of the past are no longer there, where everything was dissected down to the last note. Still, this remains the best album by Zavala & Rodriguez, including their entire career. Best regards from Cousin Giusy, also known as Giusy The Hairless.

One to zero for you.

It was better that you did it; I already have enough nutcases in my list, you have many less, so the spotlight is greater. Then the reviews done by superFans diminish. However, I reiterate my advice about Praxis: Bill Laswell is someone who fully fits into your taste. Happy fishing and remember: Dentici abbomba.

However, if you really have to pick an album, even if it's not just one but two, grab Le Impavide Rane Volanti. If you really have to choose between the two sessions, go for the second one. That's the record where you hear Les at the peak of his capabilities, playing everything (always low, but of various "types") and he plays it like a god.

Rat Brigade is without guitar: Bass, Drums, Keyboards. The closest resemblance I can find for you is the "most elongated and soft-prog parts" of Colonel's Claypool Buckt Of Baernie Brains, a resemblance that, despite being the closest, doesn't really hit the mark, since in CCBOBB there's Buckthead on guitar, someone who definitely doesn't stay still. I really like it, but it's a genre that either you love or you think it's terrible. I personally prefer the more stretched and psychedelic Claypool; among Primus, my favorite is the latest EP, and I prefer it quite a bit over the other albums. Mary The Ice Cube leaves miles of distance between it and all the early albums.

You miss the best ones. You miss the double live set of Les Claypool's Feraless Flying Frog Brigade. You miss Les Claypool & The Holy Mackerel, namely Highball With The Devil. You miss the one without guitar, that is Les Claypool & The Rat Brigade. You miss the Sausage. I don't know how much I can say that Lester's side projects don't excite you if you miss more than half of them, and moreover the best ones. The live set of the Brigade of the fearless flying frogs is terrifying.
