Aneurysm is the best song by Nirvana. Or at least the most varied. It counts for 2 greasy points all by itself, and 1 for all the others combined.

He was real, and he proved it; no one would shoot themselves in the mouth with a gun to please the fans. Most fans are crap, for example, I couldn’t stand Nirvana because of that, then I actually listened to them properly and there’s not much to say.

Now I remember where I heard them mentioned, Snot almost always did a cover of theirs live, for the rest complete darkness.

Abortion? I don’t know, maybe they took the name from that one to do what I say (pennyroyal seems to be the name of an herb or a plant), because what I’m talking about was: Lexotan, Darkene, Tripizol, Tavor, White opium and then I don’t remember, all of it with tequila and other shit. Recommended before going to dinner with your woman's parents to tell them you want to marry her...

Pranzo Oltranzista is out of its mind. I’ve only heard it a couple of times; a friend of mine got it for his collection, but let’s say it’s a bit more accessible than Maldoror, which isn’t even music in the end. I didn’t know it featured Zorn and Ribot, though. I have other craziness from Patton like "Adult Theme For Voice," which I got for my collection since there are only 700 copies (I believe) floating around. Various overdubbed vocalizations, practically, like those of Stratos, but Stratos is a piece of cake for Patton in terms of vocal technique, compared to Patton and anyone else. Even Stratos' stuff is almost unbearable, but at least it gives you an idea of how far you can push the voice, or rather how far Demetrio could have gone, and these were the 70s. If he had lived a little longer, who knows what he would have come up with… maybe an album with Zorn!

Well, if you already know Faith No More, then Tomahawk. If you don’t know FNM... first of all, you don't know what you’re missing (you’ve missed) and you absolutely have to get "King For A Day... Fool For A Life Time" and "Angel Dust." If you already know them and like them, you can’t help but enjoy Tomahawk, of which I think "Mit Gas" is better than the self-titled album, but just a little bit. By the way, I heard (from UNRELIABLE sources) that Patton met Zorn, and that the crazy saxophonist had a significant influence on the making of A.Dust... is it true?

Penniroyal Tea is not a mint tea; it's a mix of psychotropic drugs and various substances that someone (I can't remember who, maybe a singer) came up with, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone—vomiting guaranteed. Beautiful Rec. Great album. Who knows who invented pennyroyal tea that I don't feel like googling?

I'll get this for myself. Then I'll let you know. W Laura Palmer :)

Very Black Sabbath... not exactly a walk in the park ; )

Hal, if you don’t understand, it’s 5% due to 3POL and 95% because of the Pattonian congregation. This record is a madness of 55 uninterrupted minutes; it’s a train racing toward experimentation. If you think you’re listening to alternative music, which we say forms a “genre” that can be associated solely with the group in question, you listen to this and realize that most of the formations floating around can more or less be confined within a generational sphere, but not the Fantomas (at most to the "Patton" genre). It’s neither a critique of other groups nor praise for the Fantomas; it’s just that this is a very particular genre. 3POL was right not to vote for it; to me, it's a 5 from a commentator’s perspective, but as a reviewer, I would have found it difficult since I can’t listen to it twice in a row... Some call them exaggerations; I call them genius moments. If you have ADSL, download it (with 56k it’s a monumental task), either you like it or you hate it, but it certainly doesn’t leave you indifferent.
