Come on, there's worse. It's not great, but there's worse. The stuff that makes me want to throw up and get angry is something else entirely. I'd prefer a thousand albums by Zwan rather than one by Good Charlotte or stuff like that.

Oh, I almost forgot... comparing Placebo to Good Charlotte means you understand very little about music. It's just a random statement thrown out there to say something silly.

I read the comment from perem, and once again I realize that music is the most subjective thing in the world. Essentially, I agree with the general judgment of the album—it’s good, definitely above average, without being groundbreaking. But then I read that "broken promise" with Stipe is a good track... four and a half minutes on a single chord with a vocal style identical to a thousand other songs and an irrepressible urge to skip to the next track. A completely useless song, just like, in my opinion, "because I love you," which seems to be receiving a lot of attention. I've heard it too many times; it’s almost annoying. On the other hand, the rest of the album is definitely good, with two absolute gems: "space monkey" and "follow the cops" (amazing). I wonder why they would make 13 songs if ten would suffice? I appreciate the honesty of those artists who create nine-track albums because they don’t have ten good ones to offer, and they don’t try to pull a fast one on you.
