THE REVIEW

The pseudo-lesbians are back "from Russia with love." After various statements, engagements, concerts in underwear, and even a pregnancy from the brunette Yulia Volkova, the two girls from "All The Things She Said" release an album much less pop and melodic than the previous one ("200 Km/H In The Wrong Lane"), at some points almost "good" (always bearing in mind that the album is aimed at an audience with a not too extensive musical culture). Leaving aside the intro and the first single "All About Us" (monotonous droning and a very banal text), the real album starts from the third song, "Cosmos (Outer Space)", a song with a rather fast and captivating rhythm, very similar to the fifth track "Friend Or Foe". It is followed by "Loves Me Not", one of the catchiest songs of the album, but with a very personal text. Aside from the aforementioned "Friend Or Foe", there's a song that splits the album in half. While the initial songs were fast and rhythmic, those after "Gomenasai" are calmer and more melodic.

"Gomenasai" is definitely a song of a completely different genre from the others, very fairy-tale-like Disney style. Following it is what I believe to be the ugliest song of the album, "Craving (I Only Want What I Can't Have)", on par with "All About Us", but the album picks up with "We Shout". The album concludes with the three best songs of the album: "Perfect Enemy", a peculiar song alternating between classical and electronic style, "Obez'yanka Nol", where Lena Katina's deep voice perfectly pairs with Yulia Volkova's high notes, enhanced by the Russian lyrics, and finally "Dangerous And Moving", the best. Style returning to the early songs of the album, rather mature text, and a very appreciable bass-electronic contrast towards the end.

Recommended for anyone who wants to explore the musical world beyond the music videos in heavy rotation on TV. [ok, skin me alive]

Tatu, musical phenomenon of this early century, are neither skilled nor talented, they are, like almost all phenomena, incapable and fundamentally useless.

The carelessness and ease with which Tatu hum their little songs, repeating until exhaustion the most trivial refrain.
