I am for a certain secularism in all things.

What annoys me the most about this story is ALBANO; the press wants to portray him as the victim, while in fact, he is the CREATOR of this parody of the joys and sorrows of Italy as a reality show... what a consciously sad situation!
I really enjoyed the review.

Dear Kurzolo, I would definitely say that he is on the right path to sainthood; at the concert in Bassano, he repeatedly invited those present to go to church to greet the Baby Jesus who was about to be born (it was Christmas Eve, just to clarify). In my opinion, he converted after his health problems, just as Fallaci converted to Americanness to thank the United States for curing her cancer. Beyond their personal human dramas (which I deeply respect), I do not like religious conversion (even Fallaci's is one) as a form of gratitude for a gift; I have great respect for those who convert, who believe, and so on, but I do not like it when it is done as a form of thanks.

This is one of the records that played a significant role in my life; during those years, I was a huge fan of Litfiba. Seeing them live for this album was an enormous thrill, and having them doodle on the cover of this record made it one of my favorites as an object.
Pink Floyd Live 8 Reunion 2 Luglio 2005

Yesterday I revisited the Live8 footage on DVD, and I watched the Pink Floyd part three times in a row because it filled me with so much emotion. Seeing it on DVD allowed me to notice all the little details that I had missed on TV, like Roger's salute to Syd, and then the entire special interview with Pink about the reasons for this reunion and the rehearsal footage... 40 minutes that, aside from a few beautiful exceptions, are worth more than the long 10 hours of the entire DVD! (Wow, what a marathon to watch it all; two days in front of the TV!)

Wow, what a struggle it was to get through this since it's the first thing I did this morning as soon as I woke up! A beautiful review, but also too on-point; it leaves nothing to curiosity and imagination. The album is really beautiful, and I recently listened to it again because I bought the original vinyl at a flea market.

To put it bluntly, on the 23rd I went to see PGR in concert, and it must have been the 5th or 6th concert I've seen since the days of CCCP. Well, I have to say they're really finished, much to my great dismay, since they have always been my reference band in terms of musical exploration. In my opinion, Zamboni's departure has caused the most damage to the group's compositional chemistry. Canali is too wild with his guitar making a racket, and he should stick to playing rather than singing. Ferretti has lost at least half of his voice; he talks more than he sings now. And for God's sake, how can Maroccolo want a double bass in the lineup? In an indoor venue with awful acoustics like the Gabbia di Bassano, it was a suicide to listen for 2 hours to guitar, drums, and TWO basses!!! For goodness' sake, a off concert can happen to anyone, but the disappointment there was enormous!
Bettye Lavette I've Got My Own Hell To Raise
Voto:
Just last night on "pop corner" on radio2, they played a track by Betty LaVette that, with its beauty and powerful crescendo, almost made me forget I was driving. Once I got home, I immediately looked up something about her and specifically the song in question, which, however, doesn't belong to this album. I listened to it in full, and while it's beautiful, it's "Laughter Ever After" sung with Andy Lewis, an artist from the acid jazz galaxy, and it's included in a collection of reinterpretations of old soul tracks titled "Totally Rewired." It's a song that gives me goosebumps from its fantastic buildup. Great review, dear Hal!
