C.S.I. Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti and the musicians in question already have significant experiences behind them, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti and Massimo Zamboni were pillars of CCCP, Gianni Maroccolo played bass in Litfiba during the good times, the keyboardist Francesco Magnelli was a collaborator with the Florentine group.
The four (who had already played together on the last CCCP album and in "Maciste Contro Tutti," the album where the acronym C.S.I. appears for the first time) are joined by Giorgio Canali on electric guitar and other guests, including Pino Gulli who hits the drums in place of Ringo De Palma, another Litfiba member, taken away by an overdose.
"Ko De Mondo" begins with the beautiful "A Tratti," with practically absent melody, rhythm on the toms, an atmosphere of tension and attention that lasts until the final liberation with the text recited on a single note and the instruments that surround it.
After the minimal "Palpitazione Tenue" and "Celluloide," in which Ferretti plays with film titles, comes "Del Mondo," perhaps the most beautiful track ever written by the group, a text of great beauty over a small and elegant melody, refined keyboards (which is no small feat) and constantly resonating guitars.
The energetic "Home Sweet Home" is followed by new important episodes such as the slow and intense "Intimisto," "Occidente" with its Middle Eastern guitar despite the title, "Memorie Di Una Testa Tagliata," characterized by gloomy verses and openings that bring back the traditional songs, another great love of Ferretti.
The sudden violent slap of "Finistère" arrives, then "La Lune Du Prajou" with the vocalizations of Ginevra Di Marco, "In Viaggio," whose arrangement perhaps trivially recalls the rock of U2.
Finally, "Fuochi nella Notte," an acoustic piece that closes the circle by recalling the obsessive "chi c'è c'è e chi non c'è non c'è" from the first episode of the album.
"Ko De Mondo" is a definitely important album, a new language, decidedly characterized in the arrangements, very original and perhaps detestable to some, but not to your reviewer: hats off!
Tracklist Lyrics and Videos
04 Del mondo (04:41)
E' stato un tempo il mondo giovane e forte,
odorante di sangue fertile,
rigoglioso di lotte, moltitudini,
splendeva pretendeva molto...
Famiglie donne incinte, sfregamenti,
facce gambe pance braccia...
Dimora della carne, riserva di calore,
sapore e familiare odore...
Famiglie donne incinte, sfregamenti,
facce gambe pance braccia...

Ko de Mondo is a magma of renewal with strong influences from C.C.C.P., yet here poetry prevails.
Thank you, Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti, for this masterpiece of the timeless old millennium, yet full of magic.
