Sigur Rós Takk...

I read the passionate words of TheBlackAngelsDeath! You almost convinced me: I’ll have to dig deeper into the grooves of Sigur Rós since I enjoy the "grand melodic openings or the dizzying descents..." Odra, you are always welcome. May confusion always reign supreme... You bring up M. Monk, and what can I say... in the end, I can only agree that the voice can transcend any 'meaning' and be valuable as pure sound (I also think of some things by that guy who seems to have been named Beethoven)...

Good job zzzzzzzzzz! I don't mind Meldhau at all... he seems to be one of the most talented among the new pianists on the scene. However, I feel like (re-)listening to the great Bill Evans! Happy Saturday everyone...

sylviano1982, a friend of mine who was coming back from the USA gifted me the album (which is somewhat related to the review). 23 euros seems a bit much. On amazon.com, you can find it for 15 dollars (with a favorable exchange rate), and if you add shipping of around 5-6 dollars, it would cost you 21 dollars = about 16 euros. In short, it's a mess. The only option left is the abominable one (downloading).

Hi pfmorph, I would have preferred a slightly more reasoned response. Here on Debaser, it seems to me that it makes sense to discuss the albums we listen to and not just say how great a CD is and leave it at that. Am I wrong? Anyway, hi! :o)
Meshell Ndegeocello Meshell Ndegeocello Presents: The Spirit Music Jamia - Dance Of The Infidel
Voto:
I’m curious about this album, it must be because Miss Meshell Ndegeocello is the 'great black hope'. I will look for it. As for Cassandra Wilson, whom I really appreciate as well, her tribute to the roots 'Belly of the Sun' is also worth it (to be revisited after what is happening in New Orleans).
Bebel Gilberto Tanto Tempo
Voto:
Well done JohnofPatmos, Bebel is a true talent and this album feels a notch above the next one. In my opinion, from the new generation to keep an eye on is also Moreno Veloso (Caetano's son).

hypothetical and majestic review. The album, which I listened to after reading the review, I like even though it's a bit less 'crazy' than I expected (following ksmgbr's words). The only flaw (if one must be found), the girls in the photo I found online seem a bit lacking in charisma. I would have preferred that they (still drawing from k.'s reviews) resembled the singer of The Kills...
Stevie Wonder Songs In The Key Of Life

I agree with some of the names mentioned above. I’ll add two: Common (whose last two albums didn’t seem bad to me amidst the chaos) and Cee-lo Green, I’m good with his 'is the soul machine' from 2004 (a kind of updated Al Green). In my opinion, Alicia Keys isn’t that bad (more as a songwriter than as a performer). The doubt remains that none of the names mentioned will produce the author of the black album of the decade (or something more since we’ve been waiting since "sign 'o the times")...

Hi Socrates, I had lost the doves, but I found them again thanks to your tip. Almost Forgot Myself is a great song (the intro is very close to Gary Clark with the King L's A Great Day For Gravity).

I quote a dialogue from the great Massimo Troisi: The friend: "Better a day as a lion than 100 days as a sheep, right?" Troisi: "But what do I know, Toni! Better 50 days as a teddy bear so you don't make a fool of yourself as a sheep, but neither do you end up like the lion that only lives for a day!"
