Well, for me Debaser is more of a showcase than Facebook; on Facebook, you can set limits, decide what to show and to whom, you can ban those who annoy you, and so on. Here, every little thing you write is visible to everyone, absolutely everyone. We often forget about the many Debaser readers who don’t comment. Several times, I’ve been asked on Facebook, Last.fm, or other social networks: "Are you the Kosmo from Debaser?" NEVER the other way around. I don’t understand why you base your opinion on your colleagues at work, who didn’t become fools because of Facebook; they already were (I think back to when I worked in a bank, 15 years ago, and the intranet we had among all the branches, the nonsense that was already circulating via email). It’s a tool that can be useful for promoting one’s activity; for example, I think of a cartoonist randomly... I opened a page with a friend about the old Lugano (images and documentation on the architectural and territorial history of Lugano), and thanks to Facebook in a month or so, we attracted hundreds and hundreds of fans. Thanks to this thing, born spontaneously among us because we have a passion, we realized a common and popular sentiment, and we are already thinking about associations, petitions, and more. Now, without Facebook, we would have never embarked on this adventure, and that’s because Facebook is immediate, free, easy, and extremely unifying. With a blog or a website, this would never have been possible. I don’t demonize; I try things, and if it’s useful, great. If it’s not useful, I let it go. And only after the experience with the subject do I allow myself to criticize.

I like everything about Cohen. Ez is very beautiful. It might be a half misstep, but if only we had more half missteps like this today.
