As far as I remember, Bad Brains alternated hardcore tracks with reggae ballads on their albums, and that was a disadvantage for them. It's a shame because when they went all out, they really nailed it. They were a bit like the Living Color of hardcore. I wouldn't exactly call them seminal, but they were an honest band.
