Mike Stern These Times
Voto:
Mike Stern is a living legend, a great musician, and that cheeky look of his... but how old is Stern? He’s still a kid! I think he’s a Peter Pan. A lovely person. I would love to hear this album; the references you give really catch my attention (Zawinul, Metheny, Steps Ahead). Beautiful review, Hal :))

Yes Ruao :) it wouldn't be bad to have the whole verse at the beginning, and you're right, it needs an "h" at the end of the last sentence (NANI can you correct me, please? thanks :D). ----- Humax :) who said that a review must be exclusively about the album? With a band like this, how can we not talk about their history? There are comments, right? It's an album that I loved a lot, but I think it's meant to be fully experienced and "seen" as the soundtrack of the film, the same goes for Quadrophenia, another masterpiece by that genius Townshend. I also omitted the recent troubles of the latter (pedophilia accusations, etc.), not mentioning the fact that the story of this album was inspired by things that happened in his childhood (sexual abuse and beatings), I didn't mention that Keith Moon was a nightmare for everyone, that he destroyed everything that came to hand, that he destroyed himself until he ended up dying of an overdose with the medications that were supposed to help him get off drugs... but that's the beauty of de-baser, where you can write whatever you want and then wait for the comments, because here everything carries the same weight, the review and the comments of others. On de-baser, the review is not an end in itself, with the comments it transforms, it shapes, it enriches. Now it's your turn Humax, tell me what you think of this album! (progressive? I write that it is "...the first Rock Opera in history that managed to establish a new role for youth music." That was "progressive" at that time, a setup that is then found in progressive...)

I've said it elsewhere, QOTSA are now classics. Beautiful review, which I knew you would do, and indeed I've been listening to this album for days to prepare for the event :)) GREAT JOB KTF!

Kilimanjaro, World Shout Your Mouth (great title!), Peggy Suicide, and Jehovahkill are albums I’ve consumed and consumed... Druido Julian has an attitude I really resonate with (except for the "excessive" use of drugs, heh heh heh), a truly eco-magical-cosmic spirituality... Rocky, you wrote a biography, but I don’t mind at all, INDEED! :)) (Nani, if you did the infamous bio section, people like Rocky, Iko, me, and others would vent there :D)

I don't know, the Ferdinad are cute but I was hoping for something more impactful... I definitely prefer the Interpol and, more broadly, the Rapture and Radio 4. The review is a bit sparse, isn't it?
