Addition: and you might ask me, what about EBM, then? Well, EBM is the trait d'union between indus and cyber punk, a nebulous area where you can place the latest Throbbing Gristle, or Nitzer Ebb, or even Skinny Puppy in their early days...

Rocky, but on de.baser it's implied that everyone expresses their "own" opinion, opinions that should rightly be respected... but when you say to me "in fact, I haven't even heard them mentioned anymore, thankfully," as if they were the Ebola virus, huh! :))
It's always the same story, European industrial vs. cyberpunk. It's an eternal discussion, this. I lean towards European industrial, the one born from Edgar Varèse and Karl Heinz Stockhausen, the one that stemmed from Kraut, the one from Berlin and Kraftwerk (Stockhausen's students), and then Throbbing Gristle (for whom the term Industrial was coined) and finally Suicide... These are the forefathers of industrial, Rocky. Skinny Puppy are indeed pioneers, but of a very specific genre, Cyberpunk. They embody Cyberpunk, a neural and digital "mood of life," which has influenced (since the early '80s) people like Front 242 or FLA, and continues to influence many others, such as NIN, Ministry, etc... and has given rise to techno (in Detroit)... They are two different schools.
All this to say that a comparison between YG and SP is not even feasible since the former belong to the European industrial genre (contemporaries of people like Einstürzende Neubauten), while the latter are the forefathers of cyberpunk. Then again, tastes are tastes, that goes without saying... Bye brotha, love ya :D

I just remembered something now, since we're talking about "renewal": In 1999, the SY had all their equipment stolen, all at once, the gear they had from the beginning, calibrated and manipulated to be the exclusive element in creating their sound. Even tapes with old recordings disappeared... they had to start from scratch, redo everything. Renewal… Unmade Bed (a wonderful Thurston) sounds so new, but how old it is, Thurston like Neil Young… Future, past, we are always here, we are here. WE ARE HERE.

Rocky Rocky Rocky! Please don’t touch the Young Gods, DO NOT TOUCH THE YOUNG GODS. I really think I need to write a review, I definitely feel like it! A kiss (Iko, what brings you here!)

No, but excuse me for intruding, what’s that spit of a cover? A tip from Aunt Kosmo: when you’re looking for covers for your reviews, go to Amazon.com, there you’ll find plenty. Once you’ve found the album you’re reviewing through the site search, click on the cover image (“see larger picture”) and when you’ve got the maximum size (on Amazon, this cover is three times bigger), download it. Sorry if I'm being a nuisance, but I care about you all :)

No, now... I read everywhere about this Quorton and the Bathory, who sparked this scene and that scene... That he was a viking god on earth... So I have to hear/listen to/analyze/verify the song Blood Fire Death... I MUST! Who can lend me a hand? Who can send me a wild copy? :)

Never listened to Easy, and I won't start now! Nice review, and as Psychopompe says (even though it doesn't really relate), the Keane, and the Hope Of The States, I would add, should be dealt with using a club. Koopa, you storyteller, you! :D
