There are people who get facelifts and those who get them for the heart. I truly believe that music is the best 'heart lifter' there is :)

.. the problem is that guy doesn't let anyone touch his records. He lets me because I used to sell them, so I knew how to handle them, but his son nix! He looks at stuff still sealed, never unwrapped! I don’t remember touching the Faust, but I remember the memorabilia he had lying around. Those nerdy krauts bowed devoutly over their little gizmos, SHOCKED by their own neurons moving from their minds to their hands to the keys... This gentleman, in addition to being a sound engineer, is also a pharmacy graduate (eheheheheeeehhhe, a great pharmacist by the way) :D damn if he knows I wrote that he’s 60 (he's 58) he’ll kill me ;)

Maybe!!!! If only I had the vinyl, but I don't.... I know someone who lives here, a German guy (I won't name names, he's the father of a friend) who invents sound machinery (and when I say guy, I mean a GENIUS) and sold his technical wizardry to these and other krauts, and he has thousands of original vinyl records. When I went to his house, I fell to my knees in reverence. I swear! It's the craziest thing I've ever seen. Shelves and shelves and shelves filled with vinyls up to the ceiling. Vinyls piled up on the steps of the stairs, on the couch, on the bedside tables, in the kitchen! There was the entire history of rock in double, triple copies. Now this 60-year-old friend has become a hardcore eBay user, spending whole days trading vinyl (and sound systems) with other 60-something krauts like him. I wish I could be like that at 60.... as passionate and nerdy as they are.

Produced by Steve Albini??? A nice review, Zion and Ege speaking positively about it. In short, all these things pique my interest, huh!

Regardless of the subject of the review, which doesn't really excite me all that much... wow, you write so well!

Making Plans For Nigel, what a legendary track! I remember that back in the day, the English specialized press tended to keep Xtc as a niche band for a selected few. They never really promoted them that much, while paradoxically in America, their album sales were higher than in Europe. I don’t know if this pleased the phenomenal duo Moulder-Patridge, although I suspect they did enjoy this role of 'exclusivity'. Then again, considering that their international fame (fame, not commercial success) came more or less with this album (which is their eighth), and more pronounced with Oranges and Nonsuch (from '92)… yes, they are definitely worth rediscovering. Socrates, I really like the opening of the review. You know I completely agree! :D

I don't know them. What a surprise! But does the print on CD exist? Is it available? I'm interested, the review is very intriguing.
