The Sisters Of Mercy Some Girls Wander By Mistake
Voto:
Certainly a colossal album. Natron, that comparison of yours to the Fall is strange... I'll think about it ;)

A trip through the links you know, and see where I end up... in my favorite virtual bar!! Amalteo, you convinced me, I’ll listen to them :))

Oh, the album doesn’t catch my attention, but I respect the different tastes, of course! For instance, these days I’m really into I Knew Jeffrey Lee by Circo Fantasma and their bandmates (and I won’t mention who they are because I know the snickers would start; just Google it if you’re interested). It’s a cover album of Gun Club songs and others performed by some of your fellow countrymen. A record that would surely be ripped apart if it were de-reviewed, hehe :) but I really like it! (Sfascia, give it a listen if you can...) Augh!

I listened to it again last night and unfortunately I'm still irreparably perplexed. Sure, the songs are nice, the songwriting is okay, but where are the Calexico? Where is the sound that distinguished them in their early days? Gone! This album doesn't grab me, sorry. Thumbs down.

Great review, Marco. You made me want this album, but what a disappointment to know that it's not available. But do you have it?
Calexico Garden Ruin
Voto:
Oh no! When you say "if not always wonderfully etc. etc." you mean the opposite of what I understood. I take back what I said, except that the review helps :)

I've been listening to it for days, but I remain perplexed (just as you rightly say, "not always wonderfully engaging"). Perhaps it's worth a second listen; the review is helpful. For now, I'm not rating the album.
Big Black Atomizer

look, the Ticino is not that out of the world :D

It is undeniable (and perhaps cliché to say) that wherever Albini goes, everything takes on another dimension; the sound (whatever it may be) has a "pure" soul locked within an atomic core...
