You have to forgive me, Ozzy, I speak for taste. Those that I - the layman - have liked and feel 'romantically' akin to my (unexpressed) 'doom' side are: T'O'N mentioned, Serenades/Anathema, Gothic/Paradise Lost. Beyond that, I couldn't go... this from Tiamat has never caught me, I know it because when I was selling records it was a bestseller. Anyway, sorry for the intrusion, but I allow myself to do so because in these circles you are always polite with the busybodies :)

If it must be "goth," then let it be "gothic-metal" ... better to specify since we're not on a strictly metal site. In my humble opinion, the summation of goth-metal (considering also Anathema, My Dying Bride, and Paradise Lost) is Bloody Kisses by Type O Negative, but that's just the opinion of a novice.
