Snow Crash (quote): "Neal Stephenson's novel (http://www.nealstephenson.com) was published in 1992, when the web was still non-existent or just taking its first steps, but Internet was indeed present... Snow Crash describes an anarcho-capitalist world, where the American state practically no longer exists and the territory is governed, even militarily, by corporations. The two central characters are Hiro, a delivery driver for CosaNostra Pizza, and Y. T. (Yours Truly), a skater courier for the company RadiKS. But alongside and intertwined with the real world is the metaverse, a global fiber-optic network, with terminals everywhere, where one can enter and act using their avatars, three-dimensional digital figures. The clash occurs against drugs in the real world and against a powerful computer virus in the metaverse. The time is the early 21st century, that is, present days, where we are beginning to be equipped with fibers, and computers too... Unfortunately, the book, excellently translated by Paola Bertante for the Milanese Shake editions, is no longer available in Italian." --- just to share something, huh?

They sent me a demo about 3-4 years ago, if I'm not mistaken, and I remember my antennas perked up; they looked promising. But then I didn’t follow up. I just listened to what they have on MySpace. Not bad, not bad. A band worth supporting.

I've listened to the album and I quite like it, especially for its sound. The songwriting may not be that original, but the execution is masterful. I prefer "Acadie". In my opinion, Lanois is excellent at managing himself personally, with his solo albums, but indeed, as a producer, he really shines. Just like on Yellow Moon by the Neville Brothers. He’s amazing there.

Transposition of the "Stockholm syndrome" to the highest degree, it was a very trendy topic in the early '70s. The perfect Rampling, so angular and with those heavy eyes that have seen and lived a lot.
