Really nice review, even though Switzerland isn't Texas because we have the Alps :-) I've worked for a bunch of blues festivals and I can assure you that when bluesmen who have never left the United States arrive here, they always seem intimidated just by the fact that they can drink beer on the street without anyone bothering them (and you see them there with their shoulders always up, beer in hand, wary and awkward). We are a world of aliens. We are "used" to certain oddities thanks to American movies, while they, on the other hand, are not (digression, sorry)... anyway: long live Steve Ray.

sure that the list can go on forever :) the blues is meant to be experienced live, thinking about it I have few blues albums... in fact, apart from Duane Allman, Ray Charles, Steve Ray, and Winter, I've seen all the mentioned ones. But their albums, almost none.
