Photo taken a few hours before Lennon was killed. He had shaved off his beard that morning and was eager to feel naked, en plein air. Yoko, no, she didn’t want to undress; strangely, she felt embarrassed. A love embrace. Anachronistic. Morbid. Yet now it seems even more intense, as if he sensed it was a death embrace. Avid. Desperate. And she already in mourning, so dark, already so alone, as if he were no longer present. A dual-image, wonderful and tragic at the same time. Leibovitz, great, one could say a little more (wikipedia, meh). Rece was felt nonetheless.
