Dearest, I have the distinct impression that the intent of your latest piece is more hagiographic than promotional: of this gentleman, of whom I was unaware, you present a charming anecdote that ties him to the VU, but in my opinion there isn’t much else to say. Indeed, I see no indications whatsoever regarding the quality of his work, about which you spend just a few vague words (would you recommend this because it’s the “most varied”? How enthusiastic…). But what can I say? The story is well told, and it’s nice to read about La Monte Young, who has never been messed with here on the Deb (well, there are many things to say about him…). Kisses.

For me, this is a good album and Reflektor is undoubtedly one of the best tracks of the last decade.
Aside from that improperly emphasized "freakettone" (a recurring mistake, as noted in some messages above), the review perfectly hits the mark: the album, due to its supposed commercial drift (already initiated by The Suburbs), has been stigmatized by a significant part of the critics, but in the end, it remains a work with a significant number of stylish moments.

It's cute, no doubt about it, and the metaphor of a sweetened Richard D. James is fitting, but in my opinion, it would suffice to call Squarepusher into question (also a Warp DOC) who, in his more buoyant version, churns out tracks of the same caliber as Discipline of Enthusiasm.

Hey, Sullen, one day you need to explain to me why you waste the acute accent so many times for "é" when it’s actually written "è". As for Rominuccia, you know I care about her more than she deserves, and I wonder if you might be a bit too much in love. But "Mister no", I’m telling the truth, I kind of like it. Kisses.

Uhm, if you send "to hell" Christianity using this documented term from the Vulgate, the preamble goes a bit haywire! Perhaps as a nod to pagan rites you should have used a more neutral "es kòrakas", which in ancient Greek means the same as "to ruin", or more properly "to the crows" if we take the literal sense. Then I raise my Ancelotti eyebrow at the supposed rite of the eunuchs throwing their genitals into the brazier: from what source did you obtain that? Historically, eunuchs were castrated at puberty.
I had already given AMT a chance years ago after hearing this and Have You Seen the Other Side of the Sky, and they didn't convince me, but ça va sans dire that 40 uninterrupted minutes of psychedelic ramblings is too much for my ears.

So, I wanted to say that taking advantage of the fact that the KC are finally on Spotify (even though I have all their albums on CD or vinyl from "In the Court" to "Lark's Tongues"), I've had the album on repeat for 4 days now, and exactly since then it’s been a constant "TELA UN GINGIIII TELA UN GINGIIII TELA UN GINGIIII TELA UN GINGIIII" with Fripp's guitar in 7/8 pumping me up like a lemming in a frenzied migration. So, one more point for the work (I had given it 4 stars because I think it’s a bit short by Fripp's standards, even though there’s not a single note out of place) and one more point for Caspasian for making me listen to it again after years of oblivion.

Your note on the recognizability of such a tome based on smell made me think about the issue of the fragrance of book pages, on which certain aficionados might write entire literatures (fragrant as well). It seems like any ordinary jest, but for olfactory experts, it is irrefutable science, so depending on the paper used, there can be multiple scents to confront the nostrils. Sometimes I indulge myself too, if the editions are not made of recycled paper (green, but alas unpleasant).

One of the few metals I managed to eavesdrop on, despite the usual unsettling guitar strumming in the background. Here, they were in perfect harmony with keyboards and pianos, and perhaps it was precisely this indulgence towards pop interludes that was one of the most original contaminations.
