My Dying Bride A Line Of Deathless Kings
Voto:
No, Fede, you are not the only one... in fact, I judge it even worse than you. What a disappointment this album is after the peaks of "The dreadful hours" and "Songs of Darkness words of light." The latest release from MdB lacks creativity and originality, settling into a well-crafted gothic sound but forgetting the doom-death surges that were still felt (and exalted) in the last two works. It's a return to the atmospheres of "The light at the end of the world" but without its quality. The first two tracks are good, and then the rest is weary repetition; the same is praised by many "Deeper down" means very little to me, the same goes for the final track which I find bland and without bite; moreover, with Aaron's vocals lacking growls, it sacrifices too much pathos.
Genesis Selling England By The Pound
Voto:
Congratulations Breus, great review. I truly tip my hat, however, I cannot bring myself to give less than 5 stars to such a masterpiece. I agree with the assessment that "The Lamb" represents the pinnacle of the Genesis sound, and also with "The Cinema Show" as the best track on the platter in question.
Third Ear Band Third Ear Band

A grand and monumental album. Far superior to the previous Alchemy. The masterpiece within the masterpiece is nonetheless Earth, a non plus-ultra of ethnic-progressive, psychedelic, and tribal all at once.
Isis In The Abscence Of Truth
Voto:
The review is truly inadequate for the work and the group in question. First of all, there are no "almost Black Metal" outbursts in the music of Isis, but at most post-core derivatives, which are drifting further away. This album marks the definitive shift towards post-rock. From Mosquito Control to the latest platter, there has been a gradual and relentless lightening of the sound: in my opinion, the point of greatest balance, synthesis, and creative strength was reached in Oceanic, a real milestone in the music of the new millennium.

Gentle Giant The Missing Piece
Voto:
Of the "decadence" discs by G.G., this is the one I prefer... some tracks are truly beautiful; I agree with the reviewer on the excellence of "Memories of all Days," truly one of the highlights of the entire work of the gentle giant.
Nektar Remember The Future
Voto:
Good the Nekatr, although unknown in Italy, but the masterpiece REMAINS "A tab in the Ocean", not bad also the debut album ultra-psychedelic in a Pink Floydian sense "Journey to the centre of the eye".
Agalloch Ashes Against The Grain
Voto:
Masterpiece even though I prefer The Mantle. My favorite is "Fire Above, Ice Below."
Mad River Mad River
Voto:
Truly remarkable: the error in the recording speed adds further decadent charm to the sickly harmonies of this platter, which reflects the lysergic spirit of California's flower power: "Eastern light" constitutes its peak. Slowed-down Hammond and guitars screaming madness. "War goes on" presents Quicksilver in an ultra-psychedelic version.
