Good Horror, at times truly breathtaking; the bathtub scene and the jaw are worth the film and enter the cult anthologies.
The Decemberists The King Is Dead
Voto:
Country is not in the Decemberists' DNA; I preferred the much-criticized The Hazards of Love. I consider Her Majesty the unsurpassed peak of this band, closely followed by the excellent The Crane Wife. For my tastes, this one is the worst, and then it really leans too much into the mainstream at different points (Down by the Water). Well, the collaboration... but still...
Amon Düül II Tanz Der Lemminge
Voto:
Despite Julian Cope's harsh criticism (partly justified by the banal prog excesses and somewhat "pop" moments of Tanz), this is a great album, but not a masterpiece. For that, one should turn back a year and listen to the unsurpassed Yeti, with the final pair "Yeti talks to Yogi" and "Sandoz in the rain"... sbaav

The only problem with this album is that it is placed among the absolute peaks of the Cure's music (along with the later Disintegration), Seventeen Seconds (for me number one) and the extremely dark Pornography. Nevertheless, it is the most solemn and in some ways extreme work that Smith's group has ever created.

Very, very good album, the coordinates are those of "religious black metal," but interpreted in a sober way, without too many frills. The voice strongly resembles the legendary Mikko Aspa (Clandestine Blaze - Deathspello Omega).
Genesis Trespass

Well Peppe, rather than "making another one," we should write only after numerous listens and being properly informed... however, I understand you because enthusiasm sometimes plays nasty tricks on us. I too, in fact (even if not at your level), have shot out some nonsense that I quickly regretted while reviewing "Morningrise" by Opeth. Like you (we must acknowledge it), I have publicly made amends...
Riverside Second Life Syndrome
Voto:
So, the Riversides have never been and will never be able to match this record, I know it's their masterpiece. Great Gilmour-like guitar, shadowy mood, and so much, so much creativity. Anyone who has listened to anything else by them shouldn't be misled: I repeat, this record is fantastic!
I’m done.

The Isis represent air and water, whereas the Neurosis are fire and earth!
Isis Wavering Radiant

Well, after some timid initial enthusiasm, I rate it as not better than the previous one. Some moments of clean vocals in "Hand of the Host" are shockingly ugly and cliché. It gets a little better in the last three tracks, but still... right from the cover, which dangerously recalls the dreadful and evanescent City of Echoes by Pelican (another band in a deep decline and crisis of ideas), similar downfalls can be intuited... thinking about it, I preferred In the Absence of Truth; at least there was more courage... and variety...
Elysian Blaze Cold Walls and Apparitions
Voto:
Essentially, this is depressive black, not funeral doom; the album is, in my opinion, their best. The first track is fantastic. Great atmosphere and immense creativity, surpassing 70% of Xasthur's productions, to which this project's sound is connected.
