Il Paese dei Balocchi Il Paese dei Balocchi

Ok, 5 full. Instructions for use: avoid listening without reading, progressively, the names of the tracks... that's where all the meaning of this concept lies, which manages to become cohesive and effective even without a musical continuum, with sound textures that are never repetitive and, above all, obvious, all played by GOD. Only the intro and outro of the album repeat a musical leitmotif, but the instruments, however, sound decidedly different. Special mention for the two bonus tracks, banal, cloying, but still catchy: I read they are not Balocchi, but could they be from the short period with Franco di Sabbatino?
Il Rovescio Della Medaglia La Bibbia

Masterpiece. Few means, great technique, lots of rhythm, and a lot of anger. Sodoma e Gomorra and Giudizio are two of the rockiest moments in the entire Italian scene.

I much prefer the Bible and Contaminazione. This one is an interesting project but it's really too hermetic as an album, it has some interesting sound ideas, but the content is really too bare; the Bible, although it was just as short, was definitely more badass, direct, and incisive. Review is too short, it basically says nothing.

Finally, after an eternity, I managed to listen to this album... expect another comment with my final rating, but I don't want to rate it just yet; I just want to express all the pleasant surprise I felt after listening to such an album... a complete album, particularly unique, as heterogeneous as can be, even though it's quite melancholic in many parts... I still need to fully digest it, but I believe it deserves a 5. Special mention for the 2 bonus tracks: I read that they're not the same group, and you can definitely tell, but in their own way, they're very special, even if they're a bit kitschy xD
The Beatles Abbey Road

I'm sorry, it didn't make me laugh... probably many spelling and historical errors (McCartney is alive and well, and the Beatles were born in the 60s and died in the 70s) were intentional, but if it was supposed to be funny, sorry but you didn't succeed. :(

Mmm... the first times I listened to this album, I was mesmerized. At first impact, it might leave you speechless with its grandiosity and vast instrumentation, but in reality, it's an album that should be taken as it is: classical music merged with prog, with the Concerto Grosso by New Trolls, which I even consider inferior to this work here, although it easily reaches a 4/5. This album, on the other hand, stands at 4.5/5. I don't know, it hasn't been long-lasting in my ears; after a couple of listens, I’ve already gotten tired of it, but that doesn't take away from the technique and skill of R.D.M., who already delighted us in "La Bibbia." I finally got "Il Paese dei Balocchi" and I’ll soon prepare to listen to it; let's see what comes out of it :)
Curved Air Second Album
Voto:
I still prefer the previous work, albeit slightly, as it is more varied and complete. Piece Of Mind is truly a great piece, but the other tracks, short but intense, shouldn't be underestimated either. Bright Summer's Day 68? One of the most unique songs in all of prog, in terms of oddity, within the context of Curved Air, it competes with Once a Ghost, Always a Ghost.

They vaguely recall Camel in certain passages, but they definitely remind much more of Gong and Egg. A masterpiece.

A review like this for an album like this is just fine. In some tracks, you can even hear the influence of Henry Cow, and in others, the Canterbury sound of Wyatt... a truly beautiful album.

Nice review, but contradictory in the rating. The album is a masterpiece; the sung parts are not the best, but they are so few that they become imperceptible in the overall work.
