Have I written a piece of music history perhaps? No. I’ve written a piece of history PERIOD. Is Titanic a good movie? NO. IT SUCKS, but it’s a piece of history, due to its sales. Just like this CD. You may like it or not, but you can’t deny that the success is incredible, and that will make it famous. Then when it comes to taste, that’s a whole different discussion.

I disagree. Besides being the best of the three Coldplay albums, the fact that it’s not innovative shouldn't diminish the value of the record. Moreover, it’s a piece of history, like it or not. Some critics have praised it anyway, so don't say nonsense if you don't know what you're talking about. This is a great album, even though it was made to sell: viewed from this perspective, it’s one of the most successful works of the last few years.

Cobain MAYBE didn’t invent anything. But he was the symbol of a generation, and I don't think it's easy to bear that weight, especially since I don't believe he really cared, and it’s no coincidence he killed himself (not exactly for MTV). I haven’t listened to the album in question, and I’m not judging it. I also think Nirvana were overrated, but if their records still sound like gems ten years later, it means there’s something there. Don’t you feel what emotions Nevermind and In Utero can give? Who cares if he couldn’t play, if he was a junkie, or other similar bullshit. He provided and still provides strong emotions, and that's enough for me to consider him a genius.
