THE REVIEW

After winning the "Terremoto rock" contest and recording the 45 rpm containing "Anime in plexiglass", Ligabue makes his debut on the Italian scene with this CD destined to win over millions of fans: it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful and complete CD of the Romagna singer, which marks the beginning of a phenomenal career.

The first song, and the most famous one from this album, is "Balliamo sul mondo": its rhythm and energy immediately captivate the listener, staying with them firmly. The second track is "Bambolina e Barracuda", which features a distinctive element: the spoken intro. "The room is dimly lit and much narrower than I imagined, I've thought a lot about her in here, always imagined her alone, who knows what right then...": at each concert when the audience hears it, they erupt and start singing along to: "Mettiti a sedere...". And then the masterpiece, "Piccola stella senza cielo". There are no words to express the beauty of this song, in my opinion, the most beautiful of the CD: a sweet and light rock that's impossible to disdain. The fourth track is "Marlon Brando è sempre lui", a song in line with the previous ones with a pleasant melody; the fifth piece is "Non è tempo per noi", a classic of the singer and certainly one of the most beautiful of the album. Accompanied by an acoustic guitar, Liga's voice draws you into the music and nothing can stop you from singing along. The sixth track is "Bar Mario", with a compelling rhythm and unforgettable lyrics... After the fantastic "Sogni di R&R", a slow piece that involves you from the first listen, two tracks follow that are definitely of lower caliber than the previous ones, with the insignificant "Radio radianti" and the short piece "Freddo cane in questa palude".

With the last two tracks, the musical quality rises again: the sweet and poetic "Angelo della nebbia" and the hard "Figlio di un cane" close an album that is destined to remain forever in the history of Italian rock. So, do you want to know if Liga is the singer you were looking for, capable of moving you? Listen to this CD and you’ll find out!

The debut album simply titled "Ligabue" shows how the artist from Emilia-Romagna is capable of creating simple rock songs that stick in your head from the first moment.

The beauty of Liga is that he tells simple stories but does so in an incredibly realistic way.

Ligabue proves to be a good songwriter: from the rock surges of 'Balliamo sul mondo' to the bittersweet tenderness of 'Piccola stella senza cielo'.

Undoubtedly Ligabue’s best album, and one of the best released in the early Nineties.

Ligabue simply had to 'do rock somehow,' and he did it 'as he had to, as he could,' as he knew how.

The lyrics are true and direct, raw as befits a real rocker who one fine day decides to loudly voice...his opinion on everyday life.

Ligabue’s first album is a milestone that changed Italian rock.

Every song here feels like an anthem: raw, true, unforgettable.
