Odra is the classic mood album: in the right moment, it can touch you to the point of tears; at other times, the listening needs to be paired with a strong coffee. On "Skin & Bones," I admit I shed a few tears. ;-)

I like it, even if it sounds a bit dated (or maybe that's precisely why...). Their vinyl has recently been replaced by the CD, acquired with a few dollars on Ebay. It proudly sits alongside that of the La's.

For the best of Scott-Heron, there’s really a plethora of choices. All the titles mentioned are truly valid. For some wickedly sentimental reasons, I tackled "Reflections"; but I’d also like to point out one of his live performances, "It's Your World," featuring a chilling version of "New York City."
