Roots Manuva Awfully Deep
Voto:
A great and detailed review for an artist I just can't fully appreciate. They say his best work is "Run Come Save Me," but I can't give either a higher rating, sorry. Notably, there's "Alternately Deep," the usual collection of Remixes and B-Sides released after the album following "Dub Come Save Me," which I still consider his most successful work. Nice ghem, anyway ;-)
Piero Umiliani To-Day's Sound

Yes, Trovajoli has certainly received greater recognition over the years, also thanks to sounds that are much more open and leaning towards Funk compared to the cultured and subdued atmospheres of the good Piero. Other greats of those years include Stelvio Cipriani ("Mark Il Poliziotto," "Squadra Volante," "La Polizia Ha Le Mani Legate"), Piero Piccioni ("Puppet On Chain" and many Horror-Thrillers from the early '70s), and Franco Micalizzi ("Napoli Violenta," "Roma A Mano Armata," "Il Cinico, L'Infame e Il Violento"), paradoxically more known abroad and almost forgotten in our Beautiful Country. A true shame :-)

Reviewers who clone themselves, delirious and fake anonymous comments galore. Truly a nice page.

He didn't die from an overdose anyway; he had a heart attack (caused doubtlessly by his cocaine addiction). I like the album; I think it's one of the best things produced by the PMC and the Bologna scene in general, even though it might be a bit overrated.

But yes, revolution, let’s dive into the net!
Piero Umiliani To-Day's Sound

Grandissimo Piero Umiliani, in my opinion one of the greatest and most underrated composers in history. Beyond the collection (which is nonetheless comprehensive and well-organized), I think we should look for the individual soundtracks of the maestro; his brilliant affinity for Lounge-Bossa Nova-Jazz-Funk atmospheres definitely deserves more exploration. First step: the soundtrack of the cult movie "5 Bambole Per La Luna D'Agosto" by Mario Bava. Bravo nothing :-)

Excellent review for a dark and captivating album, among the peaks of Smith and company’s production.

Great job, Soc, as usual a balanced mix of emotions and detailed information, and that's exactly what I usually look for in a review. Congratulations :-)

Great and intriguing suggestion, SuperCheri. I'm looking for it right away ;-)
Kraftwerk The Man Machine

"The Man Machine" mediocre? Good heavens, what do I have to read (thank goodness I only noticed it now :-)
