Giovanni Cassano aka Johnny Jab or rather Joe was one of the best MCs in Italy.
Perhaps he still is since now the clowns are taking the stage of the Italian hip-hop scene at the expense of those who truly deserve it.

But let's talk about the album: it is more of a tribute to a young man who died of an overdose. Since childhood, he was passionate about rap (thanks to the experience in America with his father). Back in Italy, he started attending jams from Pescara to the Mick Chek in Bolo. Through various collaborations, he began recording around '96 with Inoki, Uomini di mare, PMC. There are very profound tracks like "Gli occhi della strada" and "A nocche dure" that reflect his rap and his way of expressing things, telling the life of the street, the pure truth.

"Dio lodato" is perhaps the most beautiful song on Joe's tribute album. It features a distinctive and original flow with a mix of slang and stylish words, followed by a feat by Fibra and Lato and finally the songs dedicated to him by his closest MCs. Let's remember that Joe was about to graduate in psychology and was destined to be one of the best rappers in Italy, but Joe Cassano passed away and Italy hasn't recovered, it will be hard to move forward without a pillar of rap without Joe who did hip-hop with heart.

Drugs took him away.
The writers in Bolo dedicated beautiful murals to him.

"IT WAS AN EASTER DAY, IN MY HEAD THE SKY FALLS, IT TAKES JUST A SECOND, THE PHONE RINGS AND I ANSWER... OLD FRIEND IS NO MORE, HE LEFT THIS WORLD, BUT IT LEAVES ME SHATTERED, BUT WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, THE MAN WHO GAVE EVERYTHING FOR HIS FRIENDS... "

This record, more than an album, is a tribute to a young man who left us too soon.

I recommend it to all lovers of clandestine and anonymous rap!!
