The most obvious thing about MGMT is their psychedelic attitude. At first, I also got the impression of a pop group that was more smoke than fire, but a closer listen revealed the true psychedelic nature of MGMT. By the way, I heard the last album, which is much better than this one. A band that will continue to make noise, original, fresh, nonconformist to trends because it is absolutely rock.

You should listen to more music and write less. That way, you would avoid writing nonsense and making useless and misleading comparisons. You see, this duo is inspired, if anything, by Gainsbourg-Birkin or some J-pop, certainly not by Al Bano and Romina or the other silly examples you provide. In reality, behind this lightness, there is a serious project that has foundations in a culture that you certainly ignore.
