As soon as I saw your name on the homepage, I immediately connected you to Knopfler. Excellent review, as usual, that balances information and passion well. When I think of Knopfler, aside from "Dire," I'm always reminded of the collaboration with Emmylou Harris and Dylan's "Infidels."

SOS, they never made it to my preferences in the eighties. But I never really delved into them. She is very captivating with her sharp lines. And a beautiful voice. Great review, Nemesis. I'm going to listen to something again and check out this acoustic that I think suits them. PS. You could have added a video... it's nice to listen while reading (unlike links that interrupt the reading).
