This story about the live web saw doesn't surprise me, but it amazes me how a lot of people who only write to offend him are aware of it. :O

In the end, as a rapper, he was doing okay (is? I don't know) even though I wasn't really into Club Dogo (especially when they did those hard crap with a heart of gold to get girls).

I notice that the word "reactionary" is being thrown around quite a bit (even inappropriately, I read in the comments).

A big part of the comments above (which I say with regret) doesn’t give me much hope for this site, which doesn’t seem to be frequented by unrestrained young people anymore. :P

Well, it’s easy to trash talk DPG (I’m surprised you didn't get more positive comments this time considering your critique). As I mentioned elsewhere, I like them because they bring at least a bit of transgression and they’re kids (they were) talking to kids... as for the rest, it’s a bit of a shrug. But is British Bitch or whatever that stuff is here? Come on, it seemed still very kitsch to me.

Emis Killa, I don't think I'll ever listen to him, but I believe you made your point pretty well at the beginning. The "Trappers" (God, that sounds ugly) have managed to capture the zeitgeist (or whatever it’s called) of a part of their generation, despite being more or less incompetent as rappers (etc. etc. etc.).

Because what used to be trendy was a nauseatingly reactionary mix of thirty-somethings pretending to be shy, heartbroken teenagers.

These trappers have taken their space (deservedly so) and brought a little bit of provocation and desire to transgress into the mainstream, especially music aimed at young people. Just for that, I find them likable. After that, once the "sensation" is over, we'll see what remains (I'm saying this with curiosity).

Well, this time I see they're making quite a "stir."
I should listen to their latest and, if I can, catch them live... for now, I still haven't had the pleasure.

So it's better alone than with xx? I skipped those altogether.

I didn't even know this album existed.
Nice review.

I remember the title... it wasn't bad. As for the rapper, Club Dogo were in it.

ohmygoodness...
"it makes no sense to be somewhere if you are one of the best but no one recognizes you as such"... puppy :)

I haven't followed them since "that disastrous self-titled album eight years ago" (EIGHT YEARS AGO????? :O) but I really loved their first three albums. My favorites from the neo wave bands (?!) of that period. I might download this.

I saw them three years ago. Always classy but a bit boring as a set (not like the songs...I don’t like the band being in darkness with screens behind them showing nonsense).
The best and definitely most emotional moments were with Miller...in this blend of soul/electronic/hip-hop, Massive was hands down the winner. It’s a shame we lost that element.

Daddy G seemed to be just passing through :(
