I never really digested the first albums... but I don’t know why they fascinate me... I mean, from a compositional standpoint, they are quite indigestible but they have a drive, a sound that makes them truly infernal beyond the individual songs...

there's a bit of a lack of surprise, that's true... but there are some great pieces. I'm sure that if the predecessor hadn't existed, there wouldn't be such a bitter hostility towards him. It might be a coincidence... but everyone who receives even a minimal amount of public recognition in Italy in the indie scene is systematically loaded with crap by the "critics" of the blogs. see under "teatro degli orrori," "super elastic bubble plastic," "ministri"... is it just a coincidence? I don't think so.

Actually...to average a 3.5, I give a 4. Even the last album isn't bad...a bit cheeky but with style.

seen on 2 occasions. spine-chilling. even those who were with me and knew him little to nothing appreciated him quite a lot.

Given that I really like lights... but can you tell me that Afterhours are overrated? I'd like to see Vasco Brondi if in twenty years he will still be at the same level as now. Making a nice album is a great thing, but maintaining high quality over a twenty-year career that also involves a lot of hard work seems like a much tougher challenge... oh well, I almost forgot... now that Afterhours are known by a few more people, we have to say they suck... otherwise, you fall short of the sacred commandment of the indie-snob listener... a bit of respect for those who really contributed to creating an alternative music scene to the one prevailing in Italy.

I've seen them live twice. Goosebumps on both occasions. I understand that on CD it might come across as more monotonous. For me, however, "canzoni da spiaggia.." remains one of the best musical testimonies in Italian from this era.

the acoustic part is very interesting, the electric one less so but there are some great tracks (e.g. in your honor and best of you)
