Ah, and speaking of the new drummer who "broadens the range of action": he’s undoubtedly a powerhouse, very powerful (reminds me of the drummer from Hawkwind) but let’s not forget that HG played everything (piano, keyboards, banjo, guitars... even, and above all, on stage) and was much more versatile than Kapstad, even in drumming style. In my opinion, the range of action has significantly narrowed, not broadened at all.

Yes, yes, descending parabola. Exactly. But far be it from me to retire them, that’s what you said (MACI). We need to be objective, damn it. Say things as they are. From "Let Them..." a series of decent albums and others just barely sufficient, with some peaks (Little...) and some lows (Child). If you want to call it evolution, go ahead. For me, this is called a physiological decline in inspiration. And I'm saying this as someone who has been following them since 1990. The new drummer is good, but HG was on another planet.

Hey buddy! You can see the colorful ones if you go down and strike up a conversation with the dark guy at the corner of the street! Ask him for those specials! Hey buddy! Leave that teenagelobotomy alone, he’s such a sensitive little shit! Bye buddy!

Beautiful Demon Box, huh... who could forget it... especially "Nothing To Say" and "Waiting For The One Who Went Away" (in both versions). Overall, though, I find it a bit immature and still too tied to very specific stylistic references (did someone say Dinosaur Jr?). With the albums that followed (mentioned above), our guys found their voice and took off in a badass flight.

@ASHANTI: the truth is that you look like quite a dish, and for us guys a pretty face should match a sweet voice... but, personal advice, don't care.

@GEENO: for me, their masterpieces are "Angels and Daemons at Play" and "Timothy's Monster"... right behind them are "Trust Us" and "Blissard." But we’re talking about perfect albums or almost. If you don’t know them, I would recommend all four. @ALGOL: your point about prolixity makes sense (between LPs, EPs, various collaborations, it's hard to keep up), but the Motorpsycho of the '90s was something else. Since Let Them Eat Cake, the quality of their writing has significantly declined. And it's only natural for that to happen, it happens to all bands. They still have class to spare, and they always manage to deliver a few hits. But their masterpieces were written ten years ago, and I will always be grateful for that. And if they come back to Rome to promote the latest album, I’ll go again for the fifth time. YES!

I mean, you’ve pissed me off. You’re too fast, bastards. First Appestato with "Child..." now you. You’ve stolen 2 reviews from me. So: I’m buying this today, so I don’t know it. Even though with the new post-2000 course I know what to expect. I quite liked "little...", I had started to appreciate them again after a period where they disappointed me a bit. "Child..." left me pretty indifferent, I found it uninspired, with hasty writing. A stretched out 6. I’m buying this because I’m a true psychonaut with all the bells and whistles, but the reality is that I’m in a dramatic downward spiral. Ah, good review.

@SYNTH-CHARMER: I don’t know them, but I've been quite into the Junior Boys lately. Do they have anything to do with that genre?

downloaded, added to the list on the external hard drive waiting to be burned onto CD... many speak well of it. Good review, just the right length. But you are Amelia the witch who enchants? (oh my, what nonsense, but I couldn't resist)
