Appestà, and it's the second time you mess with my time! First the latest Motorpsycho, now this! Which by the way sounds really good, a truly intriguing low-fi folk pop (for those who love definitions) that I can’t get enough of...for me, much better in English. In "Maremorto" (which still remains a nice track) the Italian vocal line reminds me too much of Verdena...but that’s the only critique I feel like making about an otherwise very interesting work.

Ah, one last consideration. You say: <Well? They make groups, they play, and then they break up. It's evolution.> The point is that if a group always has 30 people at their concerts, it means the group doesn’t have a following. And THEREFORE it breaks up. Like in the case of the Fluxus. It’s not "Evolution." It’s the Cause.

Look, Fiquata, I actually like you, I appreciate your comments and I sense some affinities in terms of tastes (I decided to buy the latest Oneida thanks to your review), so I’ll put down the axe right away... I come in peace, brother... That said, I also get irritated by the "indie" kids who won’t shut up during concerts... they’re never quiet. But at the same time, this snobbish attitude (which is, ironically, very "indie") towards Italian bands bothers me deeply. If I discover them, they rock. If, after I’ve discovered them, they’re minimally released from the elite of super-enthusiasts that I know I rightfully belong to because I understand a ton of music, then they become a "failed promise." Damn, it’s become a cliché. Forget the bullshit, dear Kosmo. These comments clearly prove it. I don’t know how old you are, dear Fiquata. I’m over 30, and frankly, I find these arguments no longer hold up. Music for me is sharing. If there are a lot of assholes in the crowd, well, all of them together are worth less than a single person who maybe didn’t know about this "released" band because they were busy busting their ass on some construction site and didn’t have time to look for interesting music. Maybe this guy is the thirty-first one who comes to see the next Afraid concert with you. I hope I’ve explained myself well enough. I hope so. I’d also like to know what the great icon K thinks about these thoughts. And obviously, all the other users too. A warm greeting, Fiquata. I hope you’re not upset.

Hey brother, you write like a god... this is what we call writing reviews. You confirm yourself as one of the best. I don't know them, but obviously, your writing piqued my curiosity... I'll listen to them.

I go on debaser, I see the review of the Teatro, and I think: "I'll read it just to see the snobby comments from those who say these guys are overrated, that they can’t compare to Melvins and Jesus Lizard, and the comments from those who are bitter because now they’re becoming mainstream and you can’t enjoy them alone anymore, and it was better when there were only 30 people at the concerts..." what a drag. Such predictability, guys. The truth is this: if they were American fresh off a triple deluxe vinyl, we’d all be there praising them... even snobbery is banal. @FIQUATA: how nice it was when you could see the concerts with 30 people... or even 15! yes, yes, really nice... I watched as many as 2 Fluxus concerts that way... and look where they ended up. Sadly disbanded. Wanting to keep your own band (or your own music) tightly held and not wanting to share it with the filthy, crude, polluting masses I find quite an odious masturbatory practice.

Well, I’m all for the gift of brevity, but this really sucks... too much superficiality. This is a masterpiece in its genre, no nonsense. It’s a masterpiece, period. @PUNTINICAZPUNTINI: in terms of sound, it has nothing to do with that fucking nu metal, believe me. The fact they have good production just means they're Scandinavian, nothing more. Haven’t Helmet ever recorded anything like this? It’s either: you don’t own "Betty" and "Aftertaste" or you need to change your setup. I’m sorry, but you said a couple of bullshit.
Devendra Banhart What Will We Be

Ah, the good Devendra... I really loved his lo-fi albums, and the latest one "Smokey..." wasn't bad at all... you say it’s really bad, huh? We'll see, I'll listen and then let you know... for now, congrats on the excellent review. Dry, concise like I like it. Almost professional. Really well done.

However, in his pretentious boringness of "I know everything, you know nothing," that j&r (a quote from Dallas?) says one thing right: << Axl and his mates are indeed a bunch of ignorant tasteless fools>>. True, nice ignorant ones. Nice poseurs, Franci is right, like the entire glam-street metal scene of 80s Los Angeles. The point is that, in the case of these bands, these traits (ignorance, artificiality) are not flaws, but rather advantages. They were all children of the Los Angeles "to drink." In that context, they made sense. And they produced some decent records, including this one. 3.5

Ah, one last consideration about growl, before going to bed: it’s not that I hate it, it depends on the context… I love the outbursts of Napalm, but in more doom, gothic, and psychedelic settings, in my opinion, the growl voice doesn't fit well... then again, there’s the Cannibal singer who frankly seems like a joke… well, I would gladly cut his throat :)
