This album intrigues me a lot... I only have "Sign..." and "Purple Rain" by the Prince. Both are excellent. While the album seems to be monumental, your concise review captures the idea. 3.5

Decent pop rock band. Everlong is a great song (but also the more recent "Best Of You"). Ghrol is an excellent drummer, that's true. He did a fantastic job on the QOTSA album.

On record they're such a drag, but live I'd definitely go see them... if the ticket was low price! Good description of the concert.

Not everyone is good-looking; I don’t think so either. Regarding music as sharing, I believe you’re contradicting yourself: you go to concerts where you know everyone <thirty acquaintances and all familiar faces>... I don’t know about you, but I call that sharing something with someone who, incidentally, you don’t even like. I know plenty of bands that have nothing more to say and keep churning out records because they sell like hotcakes; I also know a bunch of bands that could have still said something but disbanded because hardly anyone cared about them. And then: it’s not true that everything is available today, that everyone can reach everyone. Information is filtered, even musical information. Those who work hard and don’t fiddle around don’t get anywhere. @Kosmogabri: I knew you didn’t understand anything, I picked up on that too.
