"Bravo Cappio al Pollo, as much as you may be Beatles fans, Pet Sounds is still superior to any work of the Beatles :P" No way, I didn’t say it’s superior, I don’t know or more likely I don’t want to know; I said that a prototype pop album executed to perfection like "Pet Sounds" is something the Beatles didn’t accomplish. "But the Beatles did other things, a total and daring experimentation that miraculously succeeded." And that’s why they didn’t do it, even though that "experimentation" should be taken with a grain of salt. Anyway, we understand each other: crystalline pop / contaminated pop. For the rest, you’re getting on my nerves. You won't have my contribution to reach the usual two hundred comments saying the same thing. I disassociate myself.

Influence or not, I have never heard a pop sound as crystal clear as "Pet Sounds." I find it undeniable. A record "devoid of contaminations" (feel free to take that with a grain of salt) and orchestrated in that way, the Beatles do not have. And this does not change my love for the Beatles, nor is it meant to imply "therefore the Beach Boys are superior," I don't care about that; it's merely an observation about pop.
