Well, Sentence, I just need to know that post-rock is involved and that math-rock involves "calculations" (or even odd time signatures, as the good Zzot points out, typical of prog as well), to say that this album has nothing to do with it. Zzot, in my opinion, is not essential; rather, you just need to know that he's a producer (also of masterpieces like Surfer Rosa by the Pixies) and a guitarist who has been in various bands (usually noise) and is currently, I believe, with Shellac.

Did you know that in Home I read "John Smith COLLECTS Lambrusco, Rose Knives & Pop Corn"?

I believe it was better than the previous one, even though it reminded me of The Bends (and not OK Computer, as Sonic80 rightly points out).

Nice, and the anecdote about the torn shirt is charming too. I only find the hyperlinks a bit overwhelming, especially if there are quite a few (and require a certain level of attention, like YouTube links), but that's just my limitation. Unfortunately, I only know Moondance and the monumental Astral Weeks by Van Morrison, but I'll try to delve deeper sooner or later.

And anyway, in this album, I hear very little, if anything, of math-rock.

Ah, they've even been removed. Interesting. I wonder what the good Sentence would have thought of the original version. Anyway, thanks Bartle, don't mention it, no problem!

What can I say then? It seems to me that in the end Hardrock92 was right, they are more famous than the Backstreet Boys.
