Anyway, it doesn't make sense to have all this controversy; the point is quite simple: there’s objectivity and subjectivity. Muffinman said something that might make sense, but then he should have realized that music isn't limited to objective facts and that personal tastes and preferences also exist, plus he messed up when he said, if I’m not mistaken, that Nirvana were not influential. They were influential precisely for the same reason Elvis was/is rock. And their success, which embodies the respective definitions (rock, grunge, and whatever else for them), set the most striking example for many, starting a "vicious circle" (in a "good" sense), thus leading to influence (not the mindless kind). It's well-established and clear that Zappa was more talented and innovative, but it's not a reason to use it as an excuse to "attack" more derivative bands simply because they don’t sit well. In short, there’s not just innovation, originality, and influence. Music is much more; or rather, it’s not only that aspect which adds greater value.

I never said that my reviews deserved or were worthy of praise, far from it. But I'll stop here. Anyway, you're right, huh. I was just studying you...

Are we now at the times of Uptown Girl? Go tell Cold Spring Harbor that it sold, or Turnstiles that was played by a mediocre artist, my dear devoted jazz listener. I remind you that this is about "pop," so do as you wish. Regards.

Ah, so I didn't catch the irony. It doesn't change much. And what about the direct address in the second person plural? (Analyzing an album doesn't necessarily mean doing a track-by-track or making the review cold.)

"A live"? Then he ran off to hide?

To me, it seems more like a showcase review, starting from "we always try to find the album of the best band that ever existed to impress our acquaintances: but what do we choose?". To impress? Is that how one chooses their own listening? Then the review, while saying the bare minimum, continues in this tone, addressing a second-person plural when it should simply be a personal analysis of the album or the emotions it evokes, still trying to maintain a rather objective approach. Right?
