You are mistaken: the loss has already occurred. Determining today exactly how many victims there are is humanly irrelevant: it seems quite clear to me that there are no fewer than a thousand, just as a million more or one less would not change the substance of things.

I've got that "suffocation" feeling out of nowhere. I hope it's at least out of fashion :-)

I didn't compare the two events; I simply highlighted the same type of death encountered in both tragedies: asphyxiation. However, now that you mention it, I must admit that I wouldn't see anything so paradoxical even in the comparison itself (never directly mentioned). They are two tragedies of immeasurable dimensions—not only in terms of victims, both caused by deranged individuals, period. So absurd? I want to clarify that I am not full of certainties; I am merely saying that on certain matters one should avoid spending time so lightly just for the sake of showcasing one's knowledge of an alleged absolute truth, when it probably doesn't exist and we certainly will never know it with exactness. Larrock, I know. What I wanted was simply to emphasize how pointless it is to waste time nitpicking over dots on i's rather than on o's (see correction on the type of torture inflicted), and disrespectful, not to mention even less useful from a human perspective, to discuss it in the aforementioned terms. Dearest Alexander, the difference of 3 million "Christians" seems very little to me, yes, since they are merely numbers. The real tragedy is the event itself, of which three million more or three less does not change its essence from a human point of view: an unparalleled tragedy that deserves respect and not futile mathematical debates. That's all.

I mean, here we still give credibility to the words of a spoiled rich kid from the Neapolitan upper class, so magnanimous as to afford to call someone else a "pulisci-culo" - the only one of the two who can truly be defined as such - just because, I don't know?, because they work? Or because, unlike him, they know what humanity is regardless of the thousands of books that provide the basis for coming on this site and spouting a bunch of nonsense while positioning themselves as the voice of absolute truth from the heights of their unreachable twenty years and never stepping foot outside? Anyway, yes, it must be more pleasant to die from asphyxiation rather than from a heart attack due to burns - because that's how those who die "burned alive" actually die. In fact, the over three thousand victims of the September 11 attacks, to name a few at random, those who didn't die engulfed in flames I mean, must have really had a blast in that situation. You know, many of them also died from asphyxiation, but someone, since they were having fun, thought to jump into the void from a height of half a kilometer to amplify the enjoyment that experience was bringing. Anyway, they died for real in the end, it was just a game; but if it hadn’t been, it wouldn’t have been a genocide: there were ONLY a little more than three thousand, huh! But what are you talking about? You have some guts. But do you have any idea of how much despair there is in the soul of someone who goes that far? Well, now imagine yourself in their place, but without even having the possibility to "decide" that "escape route" rather than another. Isn't it just as painful to die like that rather than being burned alive? And anyway, on a HUMAN level, the difference between 3 and 6 MILLION victims is something only you see. It's about as relevant as your discussion, let’s remember, led by the eternal opportunist.

In all of this, if I didn't already love Supervai, I would start right now. And anyway, I recorded the solo of "The Spirit Carries On" and sold it to Petrucci for a few euros. I needed to buy the original vinyl of "White Light/White Heat."
