Primo Levi, after a year of struggles in Auschwitz, begins to be appreciated as a survivor for the originality of his proposal, sharp riffs and raw lyrics of great emotional impact. The majors reject his works until the mid-'50s, when his first LP is published, allowing him to catch the attention of the general public and even gain acclaim in Germany, a country notoriously resistant to a certain type of sound. Today, Levi's proposal is deemed by some to be outdated, the character old-fashioned, overrated and reluctant to renew his look as a persecuted Jew, while others criticize his commercial turn and his inability to grasp new trends. The artist is gradually relegated to the margins of the scene in favor of newer, fresher characters, who, however, have not had to struggle because they have never been to Auschwitz. Fortunately, Levi does not witness all this because in 1987, he jumps from the stairwell.

Magnificent page of literary criticism, better this than that, Buzzati sloppy and Joyce brilliant, overvalued, undervalued, middlingly valued, of course we write a lot of nonsense. Beyond personal tastes, let’s just go fuck ourselves.
