unworthy of being called a review, the album is nothing special, better the early ones.

I almost forgot, a special mention for modern end, great industrial influences, a very successful piece even though the production leaves something to be desired.

A good album, in my opinion superior to BTV, spectacular tracks like The Shining Path and Wormwood (fantastic). I find that in this song, as in the entire album in general, the beautiful Vibeke shines vocally compared to the previous work. The title of the best track on the album seems to obviously go to Deadlocked, which is spine-chilling, followed closely by Hatred Grows. Selling Out and the title track are the ones I like the least. Overall, a good album, for me the best of Tristania, although I agree with the first post that Theatre of Tragedy were from another planet. P.S. The review is extremely reductive.

I had the chance to listen to this album a few years ago... what can I say, in terms of lyrics and themes, we're dealing with a top-notch album. The lyrics are among the few sensible and truthful ones. The genre isn't one of my favorites, but some masterpieces like "dio è solo merda," "sbocco nichilista," and "la repulsione negli occhi" alone bring decent value to the album, which is still quite appreciable, although a bit kitschy, predictable, and banal in certain ways. Notable are the riffs of "il sentimento non è amore" and "quasi donna.. femminista." The rest is pretty underwhelming musically. I'd say "nascere per violentarsi" is the best track on the record, but I've read many who call it one of the most extreme platters in the world... nonsense. I've heard stuff that's much, much more extreme and nihilistic (even from other genres). Giulio's voice is also lacking—it's not aggressive enough and hard to understand. Anyway, a 3 is fine. The review is superficial and very short.
