Awful review, pitiful, hyper-dramatic, excessively scenic, far too personal, damnably unhelpful.
Do you realize you’re doing EVERYTHING except talking about the album? A poor soul searching on Google for "the angel and the dark river review" to get an idea for a possible purchase/listening finds this stuff.
You hardly talk about the work at all, except for two lines where you limit yourself to four notes expressing your favorite tracks, with not the slightest objective perspective, without any technical description whatsoever, and yet this is supposed to be a review site—not a blog for diary posts, come on.
Not to mention the beginning... the quotes from MIB... this intimate tone that feels so false... pathetic, I’d say.
Now, this criticism might seem heavy or something else, but I don’t know the album; I’ve always heard good things about the band, but what’s the point of this pseudo-review? Bah.

Uematsu is an excellent composer, I have never appreciated the Black Mages.

their most successful album, great dark atmosphere, the nina between bittersweet as you rightly pointed out.. everything very pleasant, it has always reminded me of the garbage style version 2.0 in some ideas. paralyzed, explode, and marvel hill the best, I only regret they didn't continue on this gran turismo thread... what came after was a visible decline. I agree that there are no anonymous tracks like in the previous and subsequent albums, it flows beautifully and I still enjoy listening to it today :) the review is well done, you perfectly captured the essence of the album and I can only share your impressions.
