And to think that every year these pseudo-films make millions in revenue...we're really ignorant in Italy...

Beautiful review, stunning album, I too am among those who prefer UNKNOWN PLEASURES. An original, innovative, foundational band.
@ MACACO: why should suicide be deplorable? You can very well consider it wrong, but it seems to me that the adjective deplorable takes us back quite a few centuries... even if today in Italy we haven't really progressed much mentally since the period of the SACRA e SANTA witch hunts...

@YOSIF: "Sure, in the end I don't have anything against you, I just like to annoy you a little." But why, excuse me? And then especially: for me who likes this album but mostly listens to '70s-'80s rock or punk rock, who doesn't wear leather jackets and combat boots but often sandals even in winter, who not only worked this morning but also works on the 25th and the 26th... Am I part of that YOU too? Take care! A shout out to everyone!

Well-written review, although I don't share the opinion. Musically, a poppy little thing with 2-3 singles for the radio, nothing more.

Good album in my opinion. However, "The quass" is not an instrumental piece, to be precise. Aside from "Maximun Rock n' roll," which may be a bit rough and haphazard, and the last 2 works lacking ideas, a band I have always liked a lot. Especially their ability to not take themselves too seriously. I’ve seen them live 3-4 times, exceptional!
PS: you didn’t mention the wonderful "Lori Meyers" where the singer of MUFFS duets with Michele Grasso, one of the songs with the deepest lyrics in the entire NOFX discography.

@STOONEY: your comment isn't entirely wrong, it's just that there are plenty of people (like me) who really enjoy this album (and also Paranoid), but who listen to a lot of other music as well, and honestly, they don't pay much attention to violence or death; they focus on the musical side of the albums. You say that metal hasn't moved an inch since the '70s? It depends on what you mean by metal or what you listen to and know. Front Line Assembly, Godflesh, Primus, Fantomas, punk from '77 to '80 (violent, yes, but with characteristics almost opposite to classic metal), the symphonic doom of My Dying Bride or Therion, rap influences or the introduction of sampled sounds in nu-metal, bands that still play '70s rock but don't have the violence or aggression you refer to.
Maybe SLAYER are appreciated today because they continue to carry forward a dated genre that very few bands from that era have managed to bring into the 21st century; the same goes (for a completely different genre) for AC/DC and RAMONES while they were still performing.
There will always be people who judge an album by the singer's aggression, the covers, or a few catchy phrases in the lyrics. I prefer to listen to the music, that's all. CHAO!
Megadeth Youthanasia

-- He was kicked out of Metallica early in his career because he abused drugs excessively... aside from the fact that I don't believe that was the reason at all, but then... excessive abuse? What kind of language is that?
-- Youthanasia is definitely not from 2004, but from 1994
-- The drums are superbly amplified... but "Youthanasia" is a live album? I didn’t know that...
-- trash? Come on, at least get the musical genre right! It’s spelled THRASH!
-- The guitars are limited to making a few chords... is that a joke? Did you want to be funny? Or do you not even know what you're writing about?
-- Finally, the sea of grammatical errors! The review is superficial, inaccurate, written in 2 minutes, way too biased... but at least, I mean AT LEAST, READ IT OVER AND FIX THE ERRORS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
Fantomas The director's cut

An absolute masterpiece of ideas. A fantastically brilliant album in my opinion. And also the most "digestible" of FANTOMAS for those who don't love this kind of sound oddities. I was very fortunate to see them in concert when I still didn't know who they were (and everyone was saying, "the band of Dave Lombardo"): absolutely exceptional. And it's worth noting that I like MR. BUNGLE only so-so, and I like FAITH NO MORE very little (and honestly, they bored me live). "In too many cases, unfortunately, the line between experimentation and sonic garbage is very, very thin"? Exactly, just as the line between four brushstrokes on a canvas and a masterpiece by Picasso is very thin... could this perhaps be what constitutes originality?

A masterpiece of a genre. A highly relevant album, even technically. A review crafted specifically to stir up discord.
