Between three and four, nice ideas but you can feel the happy magic of previous works is missing. Excellent review, concise, yet extremely rich.

Thank you all for the comments. In my opinion, however, the entire work of Giurato is above average. Truly a great talent.

Excellent review for a book that I've been wanting to read for some time now. As for the eighties, they remain a fascinating era that I would divide into at least two parts: up until '83-'84 and afterwards, with very different characteristics.
Elias Canetti Autodafé
Voto:
Well, I started it and couldn't finish it; maybe it was too much for me at that time. Not that I disliked it, though. I recommend Canetti's essay "Crowds and Power" to everyone, which I found exceptional in many parts for describing the dynamics of human society. Unmissable.
Timoria Viaggio senza vento

I haven't listened to it in at least 15 years, and I don't know if I would listen to it again, but back then I liked it a lot. Music, lyrics, and singing (because Renga, when he's not singing nonsense, has a really nice voice). The following album, the more 'rock' 2020, is good too, but less inspired. Then the Timoria seemed to disappear. Still, they were a band that meant something in the new Italian rock of the 90s, with two albums definitely worth remembering from that period. 'Sangue Impazzito' and 'Verso Oriente' are very beautiful. Short review.

Interesting.
Peppe Voltarelli Duisburg Nantes Praga - Il bootleg live
Voto:
I remember him with chills performing live with Claudio Lolli in the remake (beautiful - and it was incredibly difficult to approach an album of that depth and natural perfection) of the Zingari.
So, full respect even though I haven't listened to his solo works.
The review is very well written. Congratulations.

Seen at the Rolling Stone in '95 after the release of the first CD, I remember a very nice and sweaty evening (but I was a different age!!!). I lost track of them after the disappointing 'La grande famiglia' and I absolutely can't stand them. Even today, you can make 'militant' music, but not in that way.
