I see that the detractors are more numerous than the supporters. I simply believe that writing in this way at 24 years old is a sign of enormous skill. I think that singing those kinds of lyrics in Italian is extremely difficult, almost impossible while remaining credible, and he manages to do it. I also believe that it will be hard for him to replicate this success; I have (and probably he doesn’t either) no idea of what he will do next, how he will evolve, or how he might regress. I also think that, at least for some, if the two screams were in English, we would be talking about a masterpiece. In short, it seems to me that there is a bit of prejudice. I have been listening to what I call 'quality Italian music' for at least fifteen years; I know perfectly the discographies of all our major artists, and I have (now, thanks to the “mulo”) a lot also of great lesser-knowns from Faust’o to Enzo Maolucci, passing through Franco Fanigliulo or the same Moltheni mentioned in a comment. So, it’s normal that LLDCE might not be liked, but failing to see remarkable abilities seems to me like blindness.

Great book, in the following years the Luther Blisset who became Wu Ming did not, in my opinion, reach such a level again.

For me, the best album of the 'secondo Battisti,' considering the first period up to Il nostro Caro Angelo and Anima Latina, is a splendid unicum. The best tracks: "Amarsi un po'" and "L'interprete di un film." When pop is art, it becomes part of history.

Here... I mean, no, what I meant was that... I didn't have them and I bought the box set for 19.90 euros. Now I'll put them on my PC, I'll split them up, and I'll indulge myself. And fuck it.
And finally, I'll be able to listen to all CSAR from Monterosso to La Spezia at night, 25 kilometers of woods without a light. And sing sing sing. Even about a duck with an accidental puff.

Love is a crazy gesture like breaking a nut with your chin above your heart. A TOTAL masterpiece. Battisti was the greatest 'light' musician in Italy. The white albums are the swan song of someone who knew how to write and dress immortal melodies. That you can enjoy singing De Andre or Fossati more is another story.
I don’t know if this is the best of the white albums, but it might be the most captivating one with the quirkiest lyrics, featuring gems like the opening line of the post.

Well, it's not that easy to swallow for those who got hooked on Low etc. Lets'Dancè (the song) is still a great pop track. The review is really nice.

Oh yes, one of the best albums from the prince. "Rainy Day" is perhaps the masterpiece of the album. A competent review but a bit too long, yet a great choice to start with.

I quote Iside. Just because someone has the misfortune of dying doesn't mean they improve...

So, I arrive in Milan after a year away, it's early October, I step out of the central station and what do I see stuck to a pole: freedom party tonight Gianfranco Fini. And still on the same pole but further down: Freedom party musical evening: tonight Edoardo Bennato. They've really hit rock bottom. Fuck off.

Wonderful, fascinating, damnably verbose, but that's how at the end of every page, even if the fatigue of the day is felt, one keeps going in search of a revelation. Naturally unnameable. One of his best. Among his stories, I’d like to highlight "La maschera di Innsmouth," memorable.
