I think the main issue with Baustelle is having gone from a cult band to a mass group, making them indigestible to many. Picking up a discussion I've had in previous posts, it’s often more important for a work with something to say to reach as wide an audience as possible, rather than creating a niche masterpiece that we niche enthusiasts (on certain things, I’m the first—go check my reviews) praise but that doesn’t change tastes at all. I believe that for a young person, listening to Baustelle could spark an interest in other things and improve their ‘education.’ Maybe they hear Baudelaire and think, who the hell is this Piero Ciampi? and now they’re listening to the masterpieces of the Livornese... That said, for me, this album is a couple of notches below their previous works, probably due to the rush with which they had to put it together and the pursuit of the difficult balance between quality and accessibility that only a few manage (Battisti?)...

I have never seen a Shrek movie and it has never interested me, but the latest Pixar films, Wall-e and Up!, are definitely better than 95% of mainstream American and Italian productions...

Speaking of food, as POPOLOITALIANO points out, how nice it is when the time comes to 'bring up' beer and sandwiches from the Brasserie Dauphine...

Commissioner Maigret is one of the most fascinating characters in detective fiction. You read one, two, ten in a row, you might confuse them, but you enjoy it immensely. Having rewatched all the Maigret episodes with Gino Cervi a few years ago (some exceptional, all good), for me, Maigret's face is that one. I'm off to reread some right away; what a desire! Excellent review, welcome!

Brunori, Brunori... I don't mind him, it's not easy to make songs like that, without the pretentious intellectualism that is often condemned from other parts on this site. I saw him live a few days ago, a bit too nice for my tastes; I prefer darker characters, but given the type of music he offers, I couldn't expect anything different. As for my friend UHUHPANICOUHUH, I would like him to explain what he means by 'classic artist from ondarock' since I too am a frequenter of that site, with which I don't always agree on artistic evaluations, but to which I recognize a certain seriousness and expertise that is hard to find on other similar sites.

Seen. Heavy but really beautiful!

Nice review. I liked the album anyway; maybe it's because I have a soft spot for the 'black sheep' of musicians. Like 'Stanze di vita quotidiana' by Guccini or 'Mira mare 19-4-89' by De Gregori...

I watched the movie when I was a kid and I don't remember it, but being a man of the lake myself, I've always had a spontaneous fondness for Pozzetto, of whom I fondly recall 'La patata Bollente, a truly excellent film. A nice and heartfelt reception.
