Indeed, I've never been able to stand anime, let's just say I hate them, yet I've always adored Miyazaki. Perhaps it's because of his poetic style...

Ah anyway, they really have nothing of "blackgaze" (mabaffanculova to whoever invented this term). As Nicola (the drummer - already in Chambers and ex-Violent Breakfast, by the way - said): "Come on, we just hop on Wolves In The Throne Room and that's it!"

Korn marked my late adolescence. Well, I discovered them in my first year of high school (the funny thing is that I started listening to bands like Isis and Dillinger Escape Plan before Korn, which is quite absurd), and in the end, I really only like their first album and a few scattered songs.

Listening now... and I must say it sounds quite flat. Dreams Of The Dead, which is playing now, doesn’t sound bad, though it might get lost in too much verbosity. In the end, it’s passable, for now. But that passable kind of “Yeah, it’s enjoyable to listen to... But why should I listen to it?”.

Despite the bad review, I still grab it; I remember the first one being really awesome and I’m just really in the mood for certain sounds... But if you have any other new proposals for thick doom/stoner and wall-of-fuzz sounds, go ahead. Best review of the year so far.

Two clarifications: there are much better (and much less catalogable) proposals than the names you mentioned. Secondly, Different Sense, which I just listened to on Youtube, has absolutely nothing to do with grind. Besides the musical aspect, especially because of the golden rule of that genre: if you can scrobble it on lastfm, it’s not grind. As for the rest, welcome.
