THE REVIEW

The new UNSANE album has been released.
It happened on March 20, 2012. So three days ago.
The new UNSANE album was released five years after the last one, "Visqueen", in 2007.
I've been waiting for it for months, like others wait for the new Tool album. But I finally got the new album, take that!

But let's not digress.
As I was saying, after five years, some side projects from the gentlemen, an EP that kicks ass ("Coextinction Recordings 1"), a live performance that made me reassess the meaning of life positively, and something else I can't recall, UNSANE is back.

I'd like to point out how, when I type UNSANE, it automatically goes into caps lock. It's impossible to write UNSANE in lowercase.

What have Our Guys done after all this time? The usual stuff.
That genuine, consistent stuff that we love so much. I would honestly be surprised if UNSANE did something different. I don't ask for it, and I don't want it because they're perfectly fine the way they are.

After twenty years of noisecore history, or whatever you want to call it, they still manage to rock; the spirit is untouched, the attitude that many claim to have but few truly possess is wonderfully intact.

How does the album sound? I've already said it, in a way. Heavy distortions, a lot of noise, nihilism and pessimism abound, nobody screams like Chris Spencer, and those things. In short, it's already clear what it's made of: the usual. The good stuff.

Were you expecting a track-by-track, minute-by-minute analysis of the album? There's no need. This "review" is certainly not meant for someone who heard of UNSANE for the first time the day before yesterday and wants to understand what they do and how they are with a detailed and meticulous analysis of the hidden nuances present in the album. I'll gladly leave that to someone else, perhaps those at Ondarock.

What do I care about fiscal details in the end? I don't know.

I'm going to have a beer while I listen to "No Chance".

Unsane's 2012 album Wreck arrives after a five-year gap, delivering the heavy, distorted noise rock fans expect. The band retains its raw spirit and uncompromising attitude. The review focuses on appreciating their consistent style rather than dissecting each track. It's a celebration of their sonic identity with no surprises, just the usual powerful noise.
