Without pretensions, but I've always enjoyed listening to them... Then recently I understood the meaning of "smokers outside the hospital doors" (not the song itself, to those who understand...) but it has nothing to do with it :D in the end, a little group without pretensions, but not bad to listen to...

This album crushed my balls after half a listen, the previous one I barely managed to get through, in hindsight even Idolum is a drag, Godlike Snake I like, but the rest I can't stand anymore.

I'm not saying it maliciously, but I don't see the connection between being overrated and enjoyment... Or maybe I've just never understood it. When is a band considered overrated? When it's seen as a revelation but is actually just a flash in the pan? Because, in that case, I've never seen anyone consider the LDs as gods on earth, or a new generational beacon; they just appeal to many. I often notice this (and I'm generalizing here, not referring to anyone on this page), if you don't like a band that everyone else likes > it's not just that you don’t like it, but the band is overrated. Anyway, talking about a genre like this is difficult, eh... It’s pure subjectivity. If we want to place the LDs in the screamo/whatever-is-simply-defined- as-emo category, the "already heard" discussion is a sensitive topic. The sounds can legitimately feel familiar, but in a genre where emotion comes first (can there be an emocore album that is apathetic?), it's not that easy to deal with... The whole fanbase thing leaves me perplexed; it's like having to compare Cave In to Neurosis or Today Is The Day because if someone likes one, they usually like the other too, while in reality, that's quite misleading... After all this, I say this post is pointless because I've already forgotten what I wrote and why.

What can I say? I even refuse to give a grade. Those who know will understand.

I absolutely want to see the "response" of the Asylum, it really seems like a film that suits them... I foresee a masterpiece.
